Banning shark fins via air cargo with Shark Guardian and SharkProject

Joined as a pilot fish partner organization, Shark Allies doesn’t stop at the seaports when it comes to banning the shark fin trade, responsibility also lies within the Air cargo carriers. Eliminating this method of transport in the fin trade is an important step in shark conservation. Many airlines still accept shark fin shipments, getting $123 billion in COVID-19 bailouts, yet sharks got none. Airlines are profiting from an industry that claims millions of sharks every year, threatening marine ecosystems and people’s livelihoods.  Now is the time to call on airlines to extend a lifeline to sharks by banning the carriage of shark fins as cargo. This campaign is extremely easy, and impactful, to get involved with. All you need is a Twitter account and a voice for sharks.

Nine airlines will be targeted over the next months. They were picked because of the location they are based or/and the assumed amount of shark fin transport they most likely transport for Export/Importing to their home country.
