Lawrence Groth (California and Mexico)

Great White Sharks, Farallon Island Sharks, Guadalupe Island Sharks and Lawrence Groth are pretty much synonymous.
He pioneered cage diving sites for Great White encounters and has assited and been part of an endless list of shark documentaries.
He therefore is part of a very small group of people around the world, that are responsible for the incredible transformation of the image of Great White sharks. Divers that have experienced being in the water with Great Whites have become some of the most ardent shark conservationist that are now changing public perception. Countless videos and films about Great Whites in recent years have shown, at least to the receptive portion of the public, that sharks are not the man hunting, bloodthirsty monsters they have always been made out to be.
As much as shark diving can be controversial, there is no denying the fact that it has created a shift in perception that would not have been possible without cage diving.

Together with Mary O’Malley Lawrence also founded Shark Save Network.
